As part of its continuous efforts to enhance the quality of education in Lebanon, the Embassy of Japan supported the Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training (LOST) in the rehabilitation of Sbouba Public School, in the village of Sbouba in Baalbeck-Hermel. The village is unfortunately deprived of developmental projects and enhanced public services, due to the complete absence of a municipality.
To fund the project, on November 18, 2019, Mr. Takeshi Okubo, Ambassador of Japan to Lebanon signed a grant contract with Dr. Ramy Lakkis, Director of LOST, which has been providing various services including education, humanitarian assistance, and health to the people of Baalbeck-Hermel. This project will benefit at least 85 students annually.
