Picking up from we left off on the pioneers of LOST and SFCG’s “Youth-Led Approach to Peaceful Coexistence Project”. A project which is dedicated to building capacities of Lebanese and Syrian youth and inducing forms of cooperation between them generating social cohesion and understanding.
We study the tale that is of Syrian young lady Hanin Freha. The 17 year old aspiring artist is getting back the grips of a life devastated by war and forced migration.
Hanin, who has participated in the Barka social cohesion camp for Lebanese and Syrian youth, reflected on the aspects of the project saying,” I have Lebanese friends now which is something I did not see coming”.
She further explained,” People are versatile, the good and the bad exist everywhere, and this camp was my chance to partner some great Lebanese youth in doing artistic activities I enjoy best”. Hanin has grown really attached to her new friends as they now hang out, and get in touch very often. They have been recently planning their next move to publicize their experience to society.
