Striding towards a perfect partnership and in a gesture of assessing the field, a Swiss Natcom delegation, escorted by UNICEF communication officers, visited LOST branch in Bedneyel area on Thursday, August 12th, 2016 to check up on the progress of the UNICEF-LOST “Learning and Skills Program for Syrian Refugees and Lebanese Youth” program. The visit served to assess and reflect on the aspects of the program on refugee lives as well as to identify needs of those refugees and help plug funding gaps.
The delegation visited LOST center in Bedneyel where they watched a presentation which illustrates LOST’s activities and interventions. They were also informed about LOST’s activity in collaboration with UNICEF in the “Learning and Skills Program for Syrian Refugees and Lebanese Youth” and the training programs it offers especially for youth. Afterwards the delegation headed to Ali Nahri Dawha 005 ITS, where they checked upon Syrian refugees’ living circumstances. They also attended a Cognitive Skills Training (CST), along with the beneficiaries, a training which equips youth with basic mathematics and language skills.
UNICEF delegations’ visits keep the cooperation level with LOST at its peak, and is a win-win situation for the benefit of beneficiaries and the relationship between both organizations. As long as this cooperation continues to exist, a decent and promising future is guaranteed for youth in Baalbeck-Hermel region.
