Serving the community is one of the Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training’s (LOST) main priorities, whether it is by providing a source of income for a sector of the community or enhancing the environment in which they live in. Once again, LOST and the World Food Programme (WFP) have partnered together to support the agricultural infrastructure in Baalbeck-Hermel.
During 2018, two projects were implemented with the support of the World Food Programme (WFP), where there were 688 direct Syrian beneficiaries and 421 direct Lebanese beneficiaries. Forty percent of these beneficiaries were women.

In Baalbeck-Hermel, a total of 11,444 meters of canals were rehabilitated and constructed. In Baalbeck specifically, 6,404 meters of canals were rehabilitated and constructed. The Central Agricultural Market in Baalbeck was rehabilitated and refurbished.
