Within the IMC project, 18,410 free indoor seedlings were distributed to households on April 8th, 2019. Seven farmers from the village of Halaniyah benefited from 571 tomato seedlings, 1,143 cucumbers, 559 sweet peppers, and 357 free capsules per farmer (total of 2,630 seedlings).
The process of the seeds went through two phases. The first phase is the seeds plantation, which needs concentration and caring. This phase takes about a month to reach the next stage, which is the seedlings production. The second phase is where all the seeds are grown enough to have seedlings, which can be taken and planted in another greenhouse.
The distribution took place at the community farm, where all the farmers came and received a specified quantity. The main goals of the community farm are to: capacitate farmers through trainings about modern technology in farming, support the agriculture sector, capacitate women farmers, and to support vulnerable families, specifically those who are led by women. The farmers were very happy and pleased, because this assistance will help them in producing good outputs and having better living conditions.
