Live colorfully, let nature shine! Have you ever wondered how nature would look like without colors or light? No doubt that, without them, nature will lose its charm. To revive nature’s beauty and adorn it with non-fading colors, an eco-friendly lifestyle is absolutely the perfect way. This is the message carried by “Sorting from the Source” domain as a part of the Water and Sanitation Hygiene (WASH) project that the Lebanese Organization of Studies and Training (LOST) is conducting in Baalbek and Bedneyel, in partnership with UNICEF. Spreading this message was as fruitful as all the activities it carried with it. These activities have incarnated the natural aspect of the project by shedding light on the importance of sorting in our lifestyles. They were meant to communicate to people’s minds and meet their needs. What is better than a colorful mural to convey such a message?
For this purpose, one mural was painted at the entrance of Ousiera Neighborhood in Baalbek. To make this area glow, 30 lamps were installed along one street in the targeted zone of Baalbek area. Bedneyel was in the process too! “I LOVE BEDNAYEL” sign is now shining with its marvelous colors at the entrance of the village. This sign was part of the gain support events carried by “Sorting from the Source” campaign, in cooperation with Bedneyel municipality. Moreover, lights in Bedneyel will never be off, as 83 lamps were installed in one road in the targeted zone of the village.
The smile drawn on pedestrians’ faces while implementing any activity was priceless. They were all very enthusiastic and optimistic about the changes that are tackling their lives. Promoting for such a new lifestyle was not as challenging, because people are aware and are in need of a new eco-friendly pattern in their lives. Nothing is better than a colorful and clean environment to build up a brighter future. With UNICEF’s support, LOST was able to enhance the environment in the village of Bedneyel.
