Psychosocial support, especially the “She Deal” program addresses the ongoing psychological and social issues of girls aged between 12-14 and 15-18 years old. Psychosocial support can help adolescents and their caregivers to understand and deal with difficult circumstances, to overcome challenges, and to develop positive coping skills.
The “She Deal” program, as part of the SHIELD project targets adolescent girls who need support to re-establish psychosocial wellbeing. It also helps them to take a look at the girl’s life cycle before, during, and after marriage.
This program targets adolescent girls who need to find their identity, recognize, and acknowledge the risks that they might be exposed to, and how to deal with them. Moreover, it also helps girls to deal with emotions, theirs and others’, and it enlightens them to acknowledge healthy relationships with adults and boys of their own age. Finally, the program will push the girls to use the learned life skills in their future.
In the photo above, girls are practicing an activity where they are learning how to “untie” difficult situations, as a team effort. Through these activities, girls are empowered and are better able to deal with stress and daily life challenges.
