The Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training (LOST) is implementing the “Retention Support and Vocational Training in Baalbeck-Hermel Governorate” project, in cooperation with UNESCO Regional Office for Education in the Arab States, funded by the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Works.
The project targets 320 Syrian and Lebanese middle school students in 6 public schools. The main activity of this program will be providing homework guidance for beneficiaries in their scholarly subjects and performing regular testing for the students in these subjects. This is executed to monitor student progress, diagnose their weaknesses and improve their scholastic retention.
These activities will lead to supporting public education students with some learning deficiencies, supporting students with the necessary study skills and guidance to reach subject proficiency in schools in Baalbeck-Hermel, and eventually reducing the drop-out rates in the selected schools across the area. The program will offer 96 educational support hours across 6 schools and over 4 days of the week. The program will also introduce nutritious daily snacks for students and full stationary.
