Youth of Northern Bekaa gathered on this day, the 25th of July to introduce 4 magnificent murals in Fakiha, Labwe, Ras Baalbeck and Ersal. 80 youth leaders and their friends and families participated in the event. These youth leaders are part of the “youth lead social cohesion initiative in Northern Bekaa” project implemented by LOST and OTI/USAID. The project aims at forming a youth lead reconciliation initiative that relies on building capacities of youth that are willing to play an active role in rebuilding trust and creating new means of communication between Ersal and its neighbor villages.
The project which is implemented in Ersal, Labwe, Fakiha/Ein and Ras Baalbeck will targets 80 youth, 20 in each area forming 4 groups. These youth receive weekly trainings, one civic and one social media training. They also organize bi-weekly activities (Murals, Banners, Postcards, Artistic activities) that reflect their teachings onto society. In the later stage of this project, these youth under the guidance of LOST and partners will design and implement community projects in the targeted areas thus benefiting society and reducing tension.
