Hermel’s Mohammad Nassereddin is waiting to receive a goat with the hope of improving the quality of life he and his family are having amidst an unprecedented economic crisis in the history of Lebanon. “While we are hit hard by the crisis in the absence of factories or companies where we can find jobs, raising goats can create a new production chance to face the increasing challenges,” he says. Taghrid, a lady beneficiary, also receives a goat and says, “I feel enthusiastic and confident to start a goat raising experience as a means of financial income via producing dairy products after I have received the necessary training workshops from the Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training (LOST).”
198 more beneficiaries, added to Mohammad and Taghrid, will benefit from the Cash for Work (CFW) project conducted by LOST in partnership with UNICEF, in which 200 goats are distributed to 200 male and female youth in Hermel, Aarsal and Al Ain.
CFW project empowers the most vulnerable families by providing them with the necessary training, tools and support to be able to make their own product ion in farming and agriculture, thus to face the soaring crisis.
