Under the title “Prevention is Better than Cure,” youth participants of the Life Skills 2021 program launched an awareness campaign about breast cancer, its symptoms and the importance of early diagnosis at the Community Farm, Baalbeck.
The Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign is at the heart of the Life Skills 2021 program run by the Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training (LOST) in partnership with UNICEF and with the funding of the German government, the Kingdom of Netherlands, and UK Aid.
The participants in the event were highly motivated to learn about breast cancer and the best practices to avoid it. The 21-year-old Reem said, “One of my dear and highly respected teachers laid her life fighting with this killing disease, and I am grateful for LOST’s awareness campaign.” The 43-year-old Mrs. Bourji said, “One of my neighbors got diagnosed with breast cancer. She was quite worried because she didn’t know much about this disease and the recovery possibility in the case of early diagnosis.” Sawsan Al Refaie, 52 years old, said “I am learning more about this disease, its detection, prevention, and treatment, so I am very thankful for LOST’s initiative.”
With LOST’s awareness campaigns, women are more inclined to know about the disease and get them checked instead of ignoring this life-taking disease.
