The Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training (LOST), in partnership with Mentor Arabia, has been implementing the Youth Peer Mentorship program, which aims to provide support to vulnerable youth in order to facilitate their transition to work stage and empower them to make healthy choices and informed career decisions.
This project was implemented through providing 81 youth with 3 months of peer-to-peer mentorship for personal and career development to support their ability to make healthy life decisions, set personal and professional goals, develop a healthy support network of peers, and identify resources to support them to reach their goals.
Among the several participants, Mona Dorgham, a 16-year-old from Bedneyel gained a lot of confidence in herself through the youth peer mentorship classes. Fatima Takkash, the youth mentor, delivered sessions which helped Mona to find a job in an esthetic beauty salon in Bedneyel, called “Ballo Salon”. Mona’s dream is to work in this field and open her own beauty salon in the future and aspires to graduate from college.
