As part of NGO capacity building in the field of peace building and in coordination with GIZ, the Peace Building Unit at LOST conducted a 3-day TOT workshop over a three-week period (August 31st, September 7th, and September 14th) for more 13 local NGOs in Baalbeck-Hermel region on how to utilize the Peace Building Curriculum at these NGOs and provided them with copies of the curriculum. On a related note, LOST allocated a training session on proposal writing tailored to the objectives of funding agencies operating on peace building in the region. LOST also offered some coaching sessions/meetings for the interested NGOs so that a final comprehensive proposal will be ready at each NGO by the time the conference takes place, so they can submit it to donors present in the conference.
The attending NGOs are: Yammuni Cultural Club, CREADEL, Jarrah Scouts (Ursal), Forsa, Kalaa Club, Ursal Rural Development, Hermel Association for Development, Lebanese Youth Network, Labanese Association for Students, Giving without Borders, Al Awaael, Cultural Heritage Organization, and Ataa Dayem (Shmustar).
