“From the heart to the heart of each house” is the title of the Mouneh Exhibition organized by the Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training (LOST) in Baalbeck Community Farm in cooperation with their partner Welthungerhilfe (WHH). More than 60 female and male participants are marketing their mouneh products and gaining new connections and expertise by virtue of the exhibition.
Added to supporting mouneh producers, the exhibition has other goals. It is the first of its kind in Baalbeck-Hermel, in which it encompasses 63 mouneh producers, encourages local production, motivates women to improve their products, and mobilizes the agricultural COOPs to increase their activities.
“I am a housewife, and mouneh production is my major source of income. I participated in the exhibition to find new markets for my processed food products,” says a female participant.
The Mouneh Exhibition welcomed the Agriculture Minister Abbas Al Hajj Hassan and the Industry Minister George Boujikian. The ministers went across the exhibition, talked and listened to the producers, and expressed their appreciation of organizing such events as to the benefit achieved for local communities, producers, and consumers.
The exhibition was also visited by the Financial Attorney General Judge Ali Ibrahim who was also impressed by the event and its positive outcomes.
The three-day exhibition included entertainment activities like Dabkeh sessions, Oud evenings and grape Debes tasting.
The good news is the promise made by LOST’s founder Dr. Ramy Lakkis that the organization has an agenda to arrange similar exhibitions across all Lebanese areas to create new marketing opportunities for Lebanese mouneh products.
