March 29, 2017, The Lebanese Organization of Studies and Training, in partnership with UNESCO, organized a series of activities within the social cohesion project, in the presence of UNESCO representatives in Baalbeck.
The youth who were involved in this project carried out one play and one musical performance, which were focused on the importance of social cohesion and its role in protecting and promoting peaceful coexistence. In addition to the play and the musical performance, youth painted one mural at the entrance of Baalbeck’s market, which included drawings and slogans showing the importance of social cohesion. Furthermore, LYN (Lebanese Youth Network) organized a football tournament, where 36 youth participants were involved.
More than 66 young Lebanese and Syrian men and women participated in the activities, with the purpose of promoting and enabling two local NGOs (LYN and LAS), through partnership and implementation of projects, to raise awareness about social cohesion. In addition, these individuals took a series of training courses, on social participation, to create a sound social relationship based on human values, through sports, art, and music.
