Thursday, May 19, 2016 a group from the Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training (LOST), hand in hand with a group of SALAM volunteers distributed some chicken for vulnerable families in Baalbeck-Hermel region.
The pilot initiative included giving out 18 hens and two roosters to two families equally. The main point is to capacitate the families in terms of egg supply, firstly for a better diet, and secondly for generating an economic source of production which can mitigate their current financial difficulties. Abbas family (four members) and Kammooni family (eight members) who received the chicken donations were delighted to be embraced by this humanitarian sense that pushes individuals and organizations to work hard for the sake of leveraging the financial situation of needy people.
The vulnerable families are always a pivot controlling LOST’s activities and the partnerships it starts including SALAM, with the arching goal of empowering these people and bettering their life conditions.
