As part of the “My Community Project” initiatives, which targeted members of municipal councils in Lebanon, the Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training (LOST) and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) provided equipment for a public park with outdoor games for children in the town of Anfeh in the Koura district, North Lebanon. This project is part of the LEAD Middle East Women’s Empowerment Program, funded by the German government.
Moreover, LOST and GIZ also provided equipment for a tourist kiosk in the town of Deir Mimas, South Lebanon, in order to promote eco-tourism on one hand and to enhance communication between the youth of the town on the other. Such initiatives reflect the extent to which Lebanese women are more involved and concerned in social and environmental issues, which is at the heart of LOST’s projects and goals that aim at empowering women and valuing their interventions.
