Thursday the 23rd of November marked a special occasion, as it held the third visit of the Ambassador of the State of Netherlands, her Excellency Hester Somsen to LOST. She was received in a massive ceremony by LOST director dr. Ramy Lakkis, the Governor of Baalbeck Hermel Mr. Basheer Khodr, and a host of armed forces officers representing the Lebanese Army, Police, General security and State security in addition to a host of key stakeholders and over 400 of the public. The visit was of dual purposes, at the first stage it pronounced the launching of LOST’s newest cooperation with the Embassy of Netherlands; the “Strengthening Social Cohesion by Responding to Community Needs in Bekaa” project. The visit also marked the conclusion of the first cycle of the “Step towards Municipal Elections” project. As such all the participants received certificates of participation from the ambassador, and then they gifted her, Abaya-Traditional cape- which she wore proudly thanking them.
The Ambassador’s visit was met with the warmest receptions by LOST staff and the public alike, as the Ambassador on behalf of the people of Netherlands has been a great supporter of the local society through generously sponsoring, forward driving projects. As such people demonstrated great admiration and gratitude flooding the hall with great numbers who sought the opportunity to thank her Excellency in person and a multitude taking pictures with her.
