Generally, displaced Syrians in Lebanon, specifically in the Baalbeck-Hermel region suffer from many challenges and problems in all fields, leading to the Lebanese environment being threatened. With recent storms and rough weather, the situation worsened, which led the Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training (LOST) to solve some of these challenges, especially those related to health and hygiene, specifically among women, girls, and children who need direct support.
Under the supervision of the Governor of Baalbeck-Hermel, Mr. Bachir Khodor and in collaboration with the municipality of Douris and the municipality of Yamouneh, LOST distributed oil and diesel in the towns of Douris and Yamouneh, targeting 220 families (Lebanese and Syrian) among the most vulnerable with children under the age of five years. This initiative was funded by the Merieux foundation, headed by Dr. Josette Najjar, in partnership with Principaute De Monaco.

The project aims at maintaining hygiene and awareness so that women in society can build their survival capacities, so that they can have a better, safer, and more dignified way of life. It also aims at improving and strengthening relations between Syrian and Lebanese participants through a project linking them with other initiatives, to build civil peace.
