Education is an important element in the way to attain human rights. It is the means to help learners rediscover their identity and find new opportunities.
The project “Together for Better Higher Education” is implemented by the Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training (LOST) within the scope of the “Funding for Training and Capacity Building” component of the HOPES-LEB project funded by the European Union, through EU Regional Trust Fund in response to the Syrian crisis, the “EU Madad Fund,” implemented by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Campus France and Nuffic. The project aims to improve access and retention to higher education in Baalbeck-Hermel and the labor market for vulnerable Lebanese and Syrian youth.

The current outcome of the project has the aim of ensuring the retention of Lebanese and Syrian youths in higher education by providing psychosocial, career development, and skills training. One hundred Lebanese and Syrian youths are undergoing skills training in three majors: accounting, nursing, and web programming, which are customized to the needs of the learners. “Together for Better Higher Education” participants show high interest in this project since they find it a big opportunity to improve their future.
