Departments 

The central Headquarters in Baalbeck includes several units that look over and support the well flow of organizational process and project execution, of which:

  • Operations, Programs, and Strategies (OPS) Unit: This unit oversees the implementation of LOST activities and coordinates between units and projects. It conducts continuous research and development exercises for the continuous enhancement of internal processes. The unit also oversees proposal design and primary budgeting in addition to communications. 
  • MEAL Unit: Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning unit oversees creating M&E systems as well as monitoring and evaluating ongoing activities and reporting throughout the organization. The MEAL also evaluates the outputs and outcomes of the projects, oversees and conducts accountability exercises, and produces constant learnings.
  • Finance Unit: the finance unit is responsible for managing the organization’s financial resources to ensure fiscal sustainability and compliance with relevant regulations. This includes budgeting, financial reporting, accounting, internal controls, compliance, audit preparations, and cash flow management. The finance unit plays a crucial role in the overall financial health and sustainability of LOST.
  • Human Resources Unit: the HR unit focuses on managing the organization’s human capital to support its mission and objectives. It is responsible for recruiting and staffing, employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, conflict resolution, health and safety, and succession planning. The HR unit plays a crucial role in building and maintaining a skilled and motivated workforce that contributes to the achievement of the organization’s mission.
  • Procurement Unit: the unit is responsible for managing the acquisition of goods and services needed to support the organization’s mission and operations. This includes sourcing and vendor management, cost negotiations, risk management, compliance, and strategic sourcing. The procurement unit plays a critical role in ensuring that LOST acquires the necessary goods and services in a way that is ethical, transparent, and aligned with its goals.
  • Logistics Unit: It is responsible for managing the movement of goods, services, and information to ensure efficient and effective operations. The primary goal is to support LOST’s mission by optimizing the flow of resources. It is responsible for inventory management, warehousing, supply chain, transportation management, and emergency response planning. The logistics unit plays a pivotal role in ensuring that resources reach their intended destinations in a timely and cost-effective manner, ultimately contributing to the organization’s overall success in fulfilling its mission.
  • Information Management Unit: the Information Management or Information Technology (IT) unit is responsible for managing and leveraging technology to support the organization’s operations and achieve its mission. This includes network and infrastructure management, data security and privacy, user support and training, IT strategic planning, and maintenance.
  • Media Unit: the media unit is responsible for managing the organization’s communications to promote its mission, engage stakeholders, and create visibility. This includes media outreach, social media management, internal communications, and event promotion. It plays a pivotal role in conveying the organization’s message, building relationships with stakeholders, and fostering a positive public perception.
