Warsha project, funded by the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives, is impacting Baalbeck El Hermel and the Bekaa governorates. This initiative promotes gender equality, peace, and security by stimulating inclusive, gender-sensitive and peace-focused practices among local security forces while equipping Lebanese and Syrian young women with the skills to pursue careers in car mechanics; a field traditionally dominated by men.
On March 7th, H.E. Madame Stephanie MacLom; the Canadian Ambassador in Lebanon, visited LOST’s Zahle center to celebrate the successful completion of the project. She discussed with the women about their journey in the Warsha program and met with security officers to reflect on their experiences before presenting them with certificates.A heartfelt thank you to the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives for supporting women’s empowerment in Baalbeck El Hermel and enhancing security practices through this transformative initiative!
