The Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training (LOST), in cooperation with Berufliche Fortbildungszentren Der Bayerischen Wirtschaft (BFZ) vocational training center, held a graduation ceremony for 128 young men and women who completed professional training courses in the following fields: health care, hotel and hospitality, plumbing, air conditioning and refrigeration, solar electricity, warehouse management, and logistics, funded by the Bavarian state government.
Dr. Lakkis stated, “this year we celebrate the 20thanniversary of our organization from a group of young people who are eager for change in society for the better, with very modest potential, and despite all the obstacles, pressure, and difficulties, it now has 10 centers and employs all capacities to serve our communities, our towns, and our homeland”. The work and programs carried out are not only for the displaced Syrians, but also for Lebanon and the Lebanese in Baalbeck, Akkar, Tripoli, and the South.
The project’s director in Lebanon, Mr. Martin Wahl, conveyed to the participants the greetings of the Bavarian government. Mr. Wahl stated, “Germany’s long experience in vocational training is an important incubator in the process of economic advancement, progress and development, and applied training is the basis for decent work”. He stressed that LOST is best in Lebanon among all other partners, and the excellent coordination saved time and money.
Zakaria Al-Jassim, one of the BINA participants gave the graduates a speech thanking LOST for training, securing kits and employment opportunities after graduation, and a certificate of participation by BFZ center for vocational training. Dr. Lakkis and Mr. Wahl concluded the ceremony by handing out the certificates and kits to the graduates, and congratulating them for all their hard work.
