A new project entitled “Youth as Role Models in the Society” was launched by the Lebanese Organization of Studies and Training (LOST) in partnership with UNESCO on October 15, 2016 to promote social cohesion in Baalbeck between Lebanese and Syrian communities.
The final aftermath of the project is to create 66 Syrian and Lebanese youth role models who interact and work together to decrease tension and promote a culture of peace. To achieve its goals, the project deliberately relies on sport activities and artistic innovative tasks done by Lebanese and Syrian youth.
The project is also a chance for partnership and interconnecting with active local NGOs, namely the Lebanese Youth Network (LYN) and Lebanese Association for Students (LAS), to implement the project and increase their outreach and expertise through a set of trainings and meetings.
“Youth as Role Models in the Society” create a sound social relation based on human values among Lebanese and Syrian youth participants via social cohesion trainings, sports, music, and art activities.
