The Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training (LOST) organized the annual major fair in Baalbeck, in partnership with UNICEF, with the participation of Rafic Al Hariri University, Le Cnam University (Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers), Lebanese University, Faculty of Science, 4th Branch in Baalbeck, LIU (Lebanese International University), AUST (American University of Science and Technology), AUL (American University of Lebanon), and CCF (Center Culturel Francais), IUL (Islamic University of Lebanon), USEK (Holy Spirit University of Kaslik), AOU (Arab Open University), in addition to LOST’s ECC (Electronic and Commercial Center).
Hundreds of high school students from Baalbeck visited the fair to learn about the educational specialties available in Lebanon. They agreed that the information they provided would undoubtedly help them in their future. The major fair was held over three days in Baalbeck, Bedneyal, and Hermel, where over 2,000 students from official and private schools attended. The representatives of the universities competed to show the advantages of their universities, and considered that their presence in Baalbeck to introduce their educational institution is a necessary step for universities and students alike.
The fair coordinator, Mr. Wissam Raad explained that the fair is to introduce the youth to the university competencies appropriate to their potentials and orientations, and to introduce them to the universities and modernizations required more in the modern labor market. Mr. Raad explained that LOST transported all the students from their schools to the fair centers, and then returned them to the school at no cost to the student. The fair aimed to reach all of the students in Baalbeck-Hermel.
