The Accessible Water Services project funded by OCHA in partnership with Relief International , aims at addressing and supporting Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene in Baalbeck El Hermel and Beqaa regions.
January and February Strikes:
→ Over 800 beneficiaries received Hygiene kits designed to suit all family members ensuring appropriateness to gender-specific requirements.
→ Hygiene promotion and Awareness sessions delivered through community-based activities sparked the beginning of sustainable behavioral change and community resilience.
These sessions promoted:
🟡 The importance of proper handwashing techniques
🟡 Safe water storage practices
🟡 Maintaining hygiene during periods of emergency or crisis
parental education on strategies for disease prevention, waste management practices, and the importance of sanitation within households and community environments, especially during limited access to clean water.
The WASH officers ensured that these sessions were not only educational but also culturally sensitive and respectful of local traditions and values.
With the Accessible Water Services project, Families across the region are gaining knowledge, boosting their confidence, and maintaining good hygiene practices even under challenging conditions.
