“You have your brush, you have your colors. You paint paradise, and in you go”. Our minds are the brush and our lifestyle is the colors. With wise minds and proper eco-friendly lifestyle, we can build a heavenly environment and enjoy the prosperity of a clean surrounding nature. This is the message carried by “Sorting from the Source” campaign as a part of the Water and Sanitation Hygiene (WASH) project that the Lebanese Organization of Studies and Training (LOST) is conducting in Baalbek and Bedneyel.
In order to spread out this message and incarnate its beauty, a mural was painted along a wall at the opening of a neighborhood in Baalbeck. The painted mural depicts a public garden that is full of trees and benches. It is meant to beautify the wall that lies at the neighborhood’s entrance and to widen the people’s eyes on the importance of such natural scenes in changing a person’s life.
During painting the mural, the people passing by the team were inquiring about the message being conveyed. In response, the team were elaborating on “Sorting from the Source” as the message being delivered, and they were encouraging people to start considering and embedding it in their lifestyle. In return, the pedestrians expressed their eagerness and true desire to start sorting as soon as possible as they were convinced this new approach will elevate their lives into a new level.
Sorting from the Source will definitely bring better attitudes to our lives and create better environment to the upcoming generations. The mural will not remain a painting only; it will become real as long as we, hand by hand, support the Go Green policy.
